🇫🇷 Augustin Bézine, artisan chocolatier et fondateur de Copo, signe ici une œuvre à la croisée de la sculpture contemporaine et de l’art culinaire. Inspirée par la figure emblématique et énigmatique issue de l’univers de Death Stranding, cette création s’impose comme un autel symbolique, vénéré dans le jeu par la mystérieuse cohorte de Higgs.
Loin d’une simple reproduction, l’artiste en propose une réinterprétation sensible, où le chocolat devient matière à récit. Les lignes ciselées à la main, les volumes, les contrastes de textures évoquent autant la fragilité humaine que la monumentalité du mythe. Le socle, intégré à la pièce, agit comme un piédestal sacré, accueillant en son creux une série de chocolats-offrandes disposés avec rigueur, presque liturgiquement.
Ces bonbons, véritables micro-architectures gustatives, prolongent l’hommage à Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Chacun, un carré de 21 mm de côté, abrite un praliné complexe et narratif :
- Amande ancienne, rare et patrimoniale
- Sarrasin local, cultivé et torréfié dans une démarche artisanale,
- Et sobacha japonais, sarrasin soufflé qui fait subtilement écho à l’univers d’Hideo Kojima, tout en ajoutant une dimension texturée et sonore à la dégustation.
À travers cette œuvre, Augustin Bézine questionne la frontière entre jeu et rituel, entre hommage et transmutation. Une pièce où le goût devient langage, et le chocolat, support d’une mythologie contemporaine.

Inspired by the iconic and enigmatic figure from the world of Death Stranding, this creation stands as a symbolic altar, revered in the game by the mysterious cohort of Higgs.
Far from a simple reproduction, the artist offers a sensitive reinterpretation, where chocolate becomes the substance of the story. The hand-carved lines, volumes, and contrasting textures evoke both human fragility and the monumentality of myth. The base, integrated into the piece, acts as a sacred pedestal, welcoming in its hollow a series of chocolate offerings arranged with precision, almost liturgically.
These candies, true micro-architectures of taste, continue the tribute to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Each one, a 21 mm square, contains a complex and narrative praline:
- Ancient almond: rare and part of a legacy
- Local buckwheat: grown and roasted using traditional methods,
- And Japanese sobacha: puffed buckwheat that subtly echoes the world of Hideo Kojima, while adding a textured and tonal dimension to the tasting.
Through this work, Augustin Bézine questions the boundary between play and ritual, between homage and transmutation. A piece where taste becomes language, and chocolate becomes the medium for a contemporary mythology.
